3D films and comic books were 'hot stuff' when I was a young man. Applying this technology to photos of figure models produces wonderful results. Those of us who grew up reading Playboy or Juggs will be astounded by the difference 3D images bring to the iconic models of our day! Yes, Paula Page and Ushi Diggart, Sylvia MacFarland and Virginia Bell and many other fine young women are immortalized and given their proper curvaceous due in this book. Photos are normally black and white images, paper quality is superb, the prints have been carefully made and the binding is built to last in a way that young bodies are not...Sexually experienced humans will not find these 'starter' images to be as erotic as equally tasteful contemporary images are but it is fine for readers from my era to revisit the young women we dreamed about.

I read the reviews saying the 3D was good, but I have to disagree. I was not impressed at all, the glasses are cheap, and the effect does not add anything, I think it distracts from the picture. Really wished I would have gotten the regular book...

I recommend this book for people who are more interested in seeings incredible photos. The vintage shots of nude men are outstanding, for the most part. A feast for my eyes, such a decadent spread. I was impressed with the visuals. I also feel as if I learned a lot about these men/models and the photogs who captured them so amazingly. It left me feeling grateful that all of these men who posed for the pictures are not shy or unwilling to be admired by anybody's eyes.. It's great to see so many various types of guys with large endowment. The book is pretty heavy, Which is slightly bothersome. I found a good quality copy that was used, for a nice price. Thanks, Amazon!

Ok...this isn't R-E-A-L-L-Y porn. Most of these are taken from 60's through 80's and are on the cheap end at that...but...the 3D made it hilarious and EVERYONE wanted to page through it. The guy I bought it for was going off to college and he later said...EVERYONE there came in a leafed through it tooo.All I can figure is the combination of boobs and 3D is a natural attractant for most men (and a few ladies)....this has a narrow audience but for what I paid for it, it was a great gift...

Some of the models are quite dated, but wow....I think it's a great coffee table book (HEY, don't judge, I keep an eclectic table, okay?) The glasses are a little quaint and a bit goofy, but the book means well. Personally, I think it was pretty good reading too....the tragic part is while we in the US live in a paradoxically puritanical society, there is so much beauty in the human form to appreciate. I know the shower scene in 'Starship Troopers' will NEVER happen, but what's a little nip slip on TV between viewers?

We got this book for an old college buddy for his 74th birthday. It almost brought tears to his eyes! He never married, but had many well endowed girlfriends. This book is definitely a good read for dirty old men! Truly one of a kind ðŸ˜„

Rip-off! After FINALLY being able to rip the cheap 3-D glasses glued to the book with GOBS of glue, then looking at the 1st 3 pages, I knew one thing: This piece of crap has got to be sent back!

If you want to see what some lucky men have in their pants then buy this book. I showed the book to my wife and she got scared though she did admire their beauty. Some of the men are stunning, their penises are works of art.

This novel was required reading in my high school back in the 1960's. I'm glad, because it was, and still is, one of my very favorite books of all time and I am a well read person (Note: my license plate reads B1G READ). Back in high school, I wanted to name my son, if I had one, Ethan. (I had three, but, unfortunately, they were all named names starting with "M". I regret that!) "Ethan Frome" is a great advisory tale of what might happen when you do not listen to your heart and follow it.

Perhaps like many readers, my first introduction to Edith Wharton was through this work in a school setting. At the time, I was instantly struck by how good it was, especially considering its diminutive size. In fact, I decided to try another helping, The House of Mirth, which I enjoyed as well, although without the same intensity. For various reasons, years after my first encounter with Wharton, I decided to give Ethan Frome a second read. I am not sorry in the slightest for having done so, for this work is marvelous.Ethan Frome is considered by many critics to be Wharton's finest work, although the rural setting and length is atypical of her output. She wrote the work in a determined effort to take a setting she felt was overly sentimentalized by her fellow female authors and strip the location of cozy `samplerism'. In this she has succeeded, for the landscape Wharton paints is uncomfortably stark. In the town of Starkfield, a young farmer, Ethan, shackled to a neurotic parasite of a wife, Zenobia, must choose between remaining faithful to his wife or succumbing to the agreeable attentions of the new servant, a distant relative of his wife's. As a conservative and religious man, I am usually unsympathetic to literary arguments against middle-class marital propriety, but Wharton has created such a monstrous witch in the character of Zenobia, and made the charming Mattie so thoroughly sweet, if not particularly skilled, that one can hardly blame Ethan for wavering, although acknowledging that his contemplation of abandoning Zeena and escaping West with Mattie is self-centered. The central plot is cushioned by a frame story set many years after a terrible accident Ethan suffers near the end of the work, in which an educated engineer, trapped by rough weather, stays with an aged, embittered Ethan at his decrepit farmstead. The exact details of this accident and its horrific aftermath are only revealed in the latter bookend of the frame story that closes this riveting tale of jealousy, illness, inertia, and constraint. The portraiture of the landscape and the psychology of three of its inhabitants is exquisitely rendered; Wharton knows her stuff.Wordsworth Classics never fails to produce editions of the highest possible quality, and at vastly affordable prices. This edition, with a fairly strong introduction by Pamela Knights, a professor at the institution where I took my master's degree, reproduces the `asterisk clouds' and chapter separations found in the original release and often deleted in modern reprintings of the novella. The cover art is excellently suited to the contents, the back cover material is well written and accurate, and the scholarly notes at the end are helpful without becoming pedantic. Hats off to one of my favorite publishers for another job well done!I recommend this book to those who enjoy pastoral and anti-pastoral, as there are arguments for this book belonging to both camps. Wharton fans, American literature buffs, appreciators of realism, and readers with shorter attention spans would also be encouraged to pick up Ethan Frome and hole up alongside of Ethan, Zeena, and Mattie in their claustrophobic farmhouse.

This is a wonderfully depressing story about a romantic love that couldn't be. While I found it somewhat laborious, I am glad I read it and at just under 100 pages, it did not take too long to read it. The story is cleverly written, although those seeking a breezy read will be somewhat disappointed. That said, anyone who has suffered in romance will find this alluring.

This is the 2nd time I licensed / read Ethan Frome, it was required reading for me in HSPA. And I did not understand the purpose. I think I understand better now. Or stalwart on this reading I'm getting a certain interpretation.I think the blue-blooded , hypochondriac dominatrix Zeena has meuncher's syndrome. She is put our and threatened by her pauper cousin Mattie, and this hatred is in conjunction with being married to Ethan, both keeping her from her preferred elitist lifestyle. Unsure if Zeena knew, or suspected Ethan and Mattie's adultery. If she did not , she achieved the same goal of punishing both of them by sending Mattie away.Yet, though its a tragedy that both Ethan and Mattie lived, it is also a fitting revenge best served cold on Zeena. It's also tragic how sweet lovable and admirable Mattie, switched personalities with Zeena.

I did not like this book in high school. I can now safely say I don't like it as an adult either. Ethan Frome is a cautionary tale - there are too many warnings here to count depending on your perspective. But it's a story told at you, not one you live alongside the characters. I didn't find myself siding with anyone, because they were not likable people. Everyone is miserable. It is not enjoyable at all, this story about struggle, love, loss, and survival.

This review reflects the accuracy of the listing and not the story itself. The listing picture shows a beautifully bound, blue linen text with gold embossed title and small emblem on the cover. What I received however was nothing I would want to display in a home collection. It was an ENORMOUS old library book, in poor condition, with extremely large print unsuitable for carrying in one's purse or briefcase to read anywhere other than home. It was closer to the size of a briefcase itself, in fact. Be aware that you very well may not get the collectors item you think you are paying for. That said, if you have rather poor eyesight and are in need of extremely large type, this would be a very suitable book.

Henry Valentine Miller was born in New York City in 1891 and raised in Brooklyn. It reminds the apprehension we have brought to ourselves and how we now live with it everyday. Was there any other way to end the war? We will never know. This is a great presentation about the history, the background, the science, the collaboration of the bomb, as well as the mistakes, distrusts which shaped the post-war geopolitical dynamics.

I've prided myself for being a rather serious reader for more than seventy years. Obviously, such a snob would never peer inside a graphic book. But for reasons not worth mentioning, I purchased Trinity: A Graphic History of the First Atomic Bomb, and I must say it was enlightening, entertaining, instructional and well worth reading or viewing, however one describes how one gets through such a book.For anyone without a scientific or engineering background, Jonathon Fettr-Vorm provides an excellent primer on the background, development and - sadly - use of the first atomic bombs. With the passage of seven decades most of us have forgotten much about the Manhattan project, and this book is a great refresher for those of us up in years or for those born after WWII but old enough to be frightened by the saber rattling of the Cold War.All in all, I recommend this book to all but the most serious and advanced students of nuclear weaponry.

Love it. Does have a few instances of mild profanity which was a bummer since I wanted to use it in my classroom. Wonderful and informative though.

Although not on par, as information is concerned with a formal history, it gives an overall idea of the people involved in the development of the A bombs used against Japan, the science involved, It shows how people from very different origins and expertise worked together to accomplish a feat that just made the bombs available towards the end of the war. It also glosses over the feelings of some of the scientists when confronted by the implications of their creation. -the graphics are excellent and convey an ambience you could not otherwise relate to if just reading the plain text.

I remember being in 10th grade World History and learning all about WWII and the atomic bomb. I also remember that my teacher could never really explain how such a devastating weapon functioned. She would simply say, "An atom splits and it explodes." Although I appreciate her attempt, I never understood how a thing as small as an atom could be split, and beyond that, how an atom could cause such a grand explosion. I tried Wikipedia but that just complicated things even more. I never truly understood the atomic bomb until I picked up this graphic novel.The graphic novel does a great job in explaining every single event that lead to the bomb's creation. It does it all chronologically, so page-flipping is not necessary. The book also introduces A LOT of names that you have probably never heard of before, but they are all tied to the events so it isn't pointless information. The book jumps from location to location with ease and it's hard to get lost since the author/artist makes good distinctions when the timeline jumps.Another aspect of this graphic novel that I really, really loved was that the science aspect of it (there's a lot of science in this graphic novel) is explained and depicted. Every step that there is to creating an atomic bomb and its explosion is drawn out. Unless you became a Chemistry Major after high school, then remembering all those concepts is difficult. I actually understood the science concepts because of his drawings.The author also ends the graphic novel with an opinion of his own, which is cool since most of the graphic novel was very fact-oriented.If I were back in high school I would have loved to read this book, not just because it has pictures, but because it is easy to follow, entertaining, and highly informative.

The story of fusion and the Manhattan project, along with more than a passing glance at the morality of the bomb and its use could be the subject of a weighty, multi-volume work (and no doubt is). But for those of us interested in these ideas but not ready to devote a long study to the subject, Jonathan Fetter-Vorm's vivid, sensitive and thoughtful account is a wonderful treasure. I loved the illustrations' variety and pungency, the scientific explanations were just about the right level, and thought the use of Oppenheimer and the other characters lent enough muscle and immediacy to keep the book human.Five stars from this reader.

Awesome introduction to what went on with the Atomic bomb. Not only does it do a fairly good job of summarizing the historical facts of the bomb, but it also does a pretty good job of giving a basic summation of the science behind it. Throughout the history and science of it all, the author does a good job of conveying the emotions of the characters while also raising moral and philosophical questions the reader can chew on for a while. Very happy with the book. Highly recommended

This should be the first book you read when you attend RCIA for adults in the Catholic Church and for every person that needs explanation of what the Church is and why the Roman Catholic Church is not what I have called it for the last five decades ask as a non-catholic, and now that I am Catholic, still hard to believe, it is a true source book and a read that needs all of your attention. Great!

I plan to deliver a 16 week (32 hours) course on the Creed to the lay people in our diocese next year. This excellent book by Marthaler confirms my conviction that the course can be conducted in a very interesting way. Marthaler deals with both the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed in a comprehensive way which includes biblical, theological, liturgical, historical, social, cultural, and even psychological aspects. The book also discusses relevant topics pertaining to the Catholics such as Mary and the seven Sacraments. The bibliography at the end of each chapter is very helpful for those interested to explore further in a particular field. The side bar reference to Catechism of the Catholic Church is much welcome. Reading this book is an eye-opening experience. I come to appreciate the Creed more. The scope is broad and the presentation inspiring. I am so absorbed as to finish reading this thick book line by line in less than three weeks. Highly recommended. A final suggestion: at the end of the book, an index of biblical reference could be added as a bonus for Bible students like myself.

If you are Catholic and you are studying catechesis, this is a must have, to really learn what the Creed is. The book was an eyeopener, yet a lot to digest.

Both the Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed contain a summary of our Christian faith. This book provides an excellent guide to better understanding the creeds and our faith.

Although this item was listed as used, the seller gave the impression that the book was like new. It has a lot of ballpoint pen underlining throughout, which is disappointing but not too surprising since it is used as a textbook. Fr. Marthaler used it in a class I took from him 20+ years ago. It is a good reference, made better with his direct comments in the class.

Thorough and readable account of the historical context within which the creed was written, along with a fine commentary on how the believing community has trid to understand and apply it over the centuries.

While I am not a dancer, I am a creative soul. Ms. Tharp uses her dance and choreography as examples, but speaks directly to artists in any genre as she describes the creative process. This book as thrilled my creative spirit and inspired me to allow myself to go beyond the self-imposed limits that I had unknowingly placed on myself.

It's helpful. In a nutshell, it tells the reader to make a habit out of the work it takes to be creative. It has exercises to help keep one's focus. But some of the exercises are more based on trying to answer existential questions about yourself. The author uses herself as a test subject for these exercises and she naturally comes back to her beginnings and the innate reasons for being as a resource to gather creative ideas. But I couldn't finish the book because the author kept talking about herself the entire time outside of said exercieses and then uses famous figures in history to support her choices in life. Despite her intentions, her need to validate her career choices show up whenever she talks about her unique name, her upbringing, her earlist memory, etc. I appreciate that her book's main message is that ingenuity, creativity, and talent all result from unglamourous, habitual, consistent, hard work. But that message is overrun by the author's introspection of herself.
